Special Thanks

To My Nan

The person who inspired all of this

The project named for you, and with you in mind. Thank you for showing me Twister all of those years ago and confirming that looking up at the skies is what I want to dedicate my life to.

I hope you are always proud. Without you, I may never have stopped to wonder why the clouds, seasons, skies, and air behave the way they do - and I certainly may never have found the path that led me here.

Mum

Never once pushing me to do anything other than what I want to do - it just so happens that all I wanted to do was Meteorology and Forecasting. You've been a constant strength and support system, and this is all because of you. From the sick days as a kid, to the meals, to the worrying and fretting over me. I hope all of that labour is finally feeling like it's paying off. Thank you.

Dad

A constant rock and motivator in my life, you've always made me laugh, kept me upbeat, and done the most for me to be able to pursue this dream. Even the long car journeys to and from Leeds have made me getting to do my dream area of research doable. This wouldn't have been feasible without you, thank you

Sam & Dan

Sam, my number one Cheerleader & the best sister a guy could ever wish for. I'm forever grateful to have a sister like you who's always so interested to hear what I've been working on - including telling everyone around you about how I'm getting on at University. Dan, for always showing a constant interest in my work and finding it so fascinating. This wouldn't have been possible without you both. A special honourable mention to Yoshi, too, who keeps me smiling constantly. Thank you.

Jase

Even from behind the scenes, I know you’ve always wanted me to do well, and that has meant more than I probably say.

Thank you for being a steady and dependable brother, and for being one of the reasons I’ve stayed committed to this research and kept pushing forward.

My Friends

Danny, Alice, Tom, Hollie, Kira, and so many more of you. You've kept me afloat when University or life got tough without even realising it, from constantly keeping me out and about to looking forward to future plans.

Thanks for being a constant support in my life and giving me a distraction from things when life gets a little too chaotic. Thank you all.

Dan

For being such a fierce champion of my work throughout my PhD Research years, you've never once doubted my ability and always kept me level headed when I doubt myself. I'm forever grateful to have met you, and it goes without saying that this wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable to work on without you by my side and being proud of me every step of the way. Thank you.
